GDPR — what data does Nexus store about my members?
Nexus is designed to minimise data collection. Your members are guests — they have no accounts, and Nexus stores as little about them as possible.
What Nexus does NOT store about your guests
- No guest accounts or registration data
- No email addresses for guests
- No call recordings (recordings go directly to the host's device — Nexus never sees them)
- No audio or video data from calls
- No tracking cookies or advertising identifiers
What Nexus does store
- The name a guest types when joining — this appears in the call and in the audit log
- Audit log entries: who joined, when they joined, when they left (identified by the name they entered)
- Chat messages, if your room has full history persistence enabled
What Nexus stores about you as an admin or host
- Your Google account email address (used for login via Google SSO)
- Your room configuration — name, branding, settings
- Billing information is held by Stripe, not by Nexus
Where data is stored
All data is stored on the Nexus server infrastructure. It is not shared with advertising platforms, analytics providers, or any third party except LiveKit (which handles encrypted call routing) and Stripe (which handles billing).
Your rights under GDPR
- You can request an export of all data held about a host via the admin panel under GDPR Tools
- You can request erasure of a host's data via the same panel
- Guest data in the audit log is identified by name only — if a guest's name is known, their entries can be erased on request
**Note:** A Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is available on request. Contact us via the support form if you need one for compliance purposes.
